Teaching Assistant job in Caerphilly – Reception Class
Start date ASAP – full time
£11.21 per hour
A small mainstream Primary school in Caerphilly are looking for a professional and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to provide one to one support for a child with mobility issues. This is a full time and long-term job, to start in as soon as possible and will potentially become a direct contract for the right person.
You will be working to support a child within the Reception class, on a 1:1 basis within the mainstream classroom. The child is wheelchair bound, so will need the appropriate support. The child does not need any support academically.
The right person will be driven and motivated, with excellent knowledge and understanding of supporting children with additional needs. The child is a wheelchair user, but there is no personal care required for this role. The child is very independent, so the right person will need to develop a rapport with the child and gain an understanding of when the child requires help and when to support the child’s independence.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills will be essential for providing the utmost support for the pupil, as well as in liaising with the pupil’s parents.

Manual Handling training is needed for this role but is not ideal as we can provide this
