We are incredibly proud to celebrate the success of Megan Hughes, who has not only secured a place on her PGCE but has also been offered a salaried position at Gwernyfed High School to complete her training this September!
Megan joined PE Direct in September 2023 after completing her BSc in Sport and Exercise Science at Cardiff Met, and she has been an invaluable member of our team ever since. Working as an ALN Teaching Assistant, Megan has made a meaningful impact in every school she’s supported — most recently at Risca Comprehensive School since January 2025.
Her role has allowed her to support pupils with a wide range of additional learning needs, while also helping her to grow in confidence, build strong relationships with learners, and develop a deep understanding of inclusive, supportive classroom practice.
We have been consistently impressed by Megan’s commitment, positive attitude, and the care she brings to her work. It’s no surprise to us that she has earned a place on a salaried PGCE — a well-deserved next step on her journey toward becoming a qualified teacher.
