This week, we are thrilled to shine a light on one of our standout candidates at PE Direct  Maisie

whose enthusiasm and dedication have been making a real impact in schools across South Wales.

Maisie joined PE Direct in October 2024, bringing with her a strong foundation in sport, including a BSc in Sport Psychology from St Mary’s University. Alongside her academic background, Maisie has valuable experience working as both a Nanny and an Athletics Coach—roles that have shaped her ability to connect with young people, understand their needs, and inspire them through sport.

In February 2025, Maisie began working at Eastern High School, initially supporting the PE department on a day-to-day basis. Her impact was immediate, and she was soon offered a longer-term role—a clear reflection of the positive influence she made in such a short time.

Reflecting on her experience so far, Maisie shared:

“My long-term PE cover at Eastern High has been extremely insightful and enjoyable. It’s not only allowed me to work alongside excellent PE teachers but also independently, where I’ve been focused on engaging young females in PE. I’ve been able to build meaningful relationships with students and have personally witnessed the progress some girls have made in overcoming their struggles in lessons. The support from the staff has been unmatched, and I always look forward to starting a new week!”

Maisie’s passion for inclusive PE and her drive to encourage greater female participation have truly stood out. Whether she’s supporting experienced teachers or leading sessions independently, she consistently brings maturity, creativity, and a deep understanding of students’ needs.

Maisie has already made a lasting impression through her placements, is a role model for pupils, and we couldn’t be prouder to support her journey. We are re excited to see where her passion and commitment take her next as she continues to grow in both education and sport.
