The first month of the new academic year has been a busy and successful one for PE Direct, the leading PE and ALN specialist agency. Our team has been out and about, meeting students and schools, and helping aspiring education professionals gain valuable experience in school settings.
We were delighted to attend the Cardiff Met Freshers Fair and the Cardiff University Social Science Fair, where we engaged with students about opportunities in schools. Many students were keen to register for part-time roles, giving them hands-on experience as teaching assistants and PE cover staff.
A big thank you goes to Chloe Thomas-Bradley, one of our PE Direct Ambassadors, and to Tomos Jones and Ffion Llewelyn, who supported us during the fairs. Both Tomos and Ffion also work with us as part-time teaching assistant and PE cover supervisors, and their help was invaluable in making the events a success.
The response has been overwhelming: we have successfully registered 30 staff for both full- and part-time roles across schools in the region. Feedback from schools has been exceptional.
Miss Lang from Bedwas commented:
“We have had Georgia in as a TA and also Ellie as PE cover – both were great and we loved them within the first couple of hours. I have made a long-term booking for both ladies with Jo.”
Similarly, Miss Vaughan from Heol Ddu Comprehensive shared:
“Just wanted to feed back regarding Lewis today. Myself and Cerys were both very pleased. He was friendly, proactive, and interacted well with the pupils.”
On top of supporting schools and students, PE Direct was also proud to sponsor the Cardiff Met FC vs Penybont match, a thrilling Welsh Premier League clash. Rob, our Managing Director, had the honour of awarding PE Direct Man of the Match to Fumpa Mwandwe for his outstanding performance on the pitch.
We’re thrilled to see such positive impacts both in schools and in the community, and we look forward to continuing to connect schools with enthusiastic, talented individuals throughout the year.
