ABOUT US

WHAT WE DO

We’re a specialist PE and SEN/ALN teaching agency.

We provide Supply Teachers, Cover Supervisors, Teaching Assistants, Learning Support Assistants and 1:1 support staff.

We also run bespoke courses for young people with BESD who are still in mainstream education but need to follow an alternative curriculum.

WHO WE ARE

Rob Williams, Managing Director

Rob is an experienced ex-teacher and education professional. He has been head of PE in a high school, Head of a behaviour unit, PE advisor for a cluster of primary schools and has a wealth of experience working with young people who have BESD. Rob lectures on behaviour management and safe and good practice in PE at both the University of South Wales and Cardiff Metropolitan University, as part of their sports degree programmes.

The journey of PE Direct is important to where we are today. We started as PE specialist Agency in 2015 placing a huge emphasis on health and well-being. We now concentrate on supporting vulnerable students to stay in school and achieve their potential.

As a result of this, we have developed into an ALN specialist agency due to the nature of our PE staff and their ability to relate to the most difficult to reach students. We provide the full range of ALN needs from sensory and physical needs to ASD, ADHD and mental health. We have become experts in the field of positive behavioural management.

OUR COVER STAFF

We are registered with Recruitment Employment Confederation (REC), Information Commisioners office (ICO). Our vetting of candidates is robust and we comply with GDPR and have the premium public and private indemnity insurance.

WHY WE SPECIALISE IN PE

We understand the value of a well-run PE lesson. Physical activity helps children release tension and anxiety, build their self-confidence, improve their social skills and enjoy better emotional well-being. And children who learn to be confident in their physical ability are more likely to go on to lead active and healthy lifestyles.

Learning to move. Moving to Learn.

After a PE lesson, when children have been physically active, they’re more likely to settle and engage in the lessons that follow. So PE also has a positive impact on standards across the curriculum as a whole.

When Rob was head of PE at a local high school he would often call an agency to arrange cover, only for them to send him a history teacher. This meant the children would miss their PE lesson.

We want to make sure you have easy access to qualified PE teachers and sports coaches whenever you need them. And that the children in your school never miss a PE lesson again.
